The community record of clothing and its history.
Every garment here has a thread: the label and who made it, where it came from, where it has been worn and with what, who has it now. Written by the people who have held it. Free to read, free to add to.

Historic Thread is a user-built database. There are three ways in.
Add a garment. One piece, one photo, a line or two about where it has been. A wedding dress, an inherited coat, the jacket you have had since college. Start a thread.
Connect a collection. Shops, rental closets, archives and collectors with many pieces publish a simple feed and the database reads it automatically, every hour, with no forms. The feed format is one JSON file. Connect yours.
Add to a thread. Know a piece that is already here? Wore it, sold it, altered it? Every thread has an "add a chapter" link. Your expertise is the record.
The first collection on the database is the rental closet at FashionablyGood. Questions, ideas, or something wrong? Tell us.
